...

I was too wiped out to think of a title for this post. I seem to have NOTHING positive to say about this day! It has been so horrible and overwhelming and busy and terrible!!! No breaks, no lunch, no leaving my desk! uuuuhhhhhh!!!! Okay, Ive thought about 2 things that are good...Im leaving here in 4 minutes and dinner is being made for me. OH!!! And Ive decided that I REALLY want to try eating only a whole food diet. So thats exciting!!!

I hope that when I look back on this post sometime in the future, I wont even remember what it was that made this day so awful :)

Winter approaches

Okay, so maybe I'm being dramatic, but walking into work from my car this morning I was wondering if I would look completely ridiculous wearing my down jacket. Although the sun was shining, I was shivering and covered in goose bumps! My iPhone said we would be experiencing a high of 74 today, so at my break, I took a walk through the park located down the street. While in the sun (with the wind obstructed of course) it was pretty warm, but in the shade...BRRRR!!! Here are some photos from my walk:

I like the ones of the paths and the one of the blackberries. I took the pic and then ate them :)

And one more:
Although this isn't a very pretty picture, I wanted to include it because it's one of my very favorite food combinations...which is obvious because I ate half of it before I managed to take a picture...slices of Honeycrisp apple and pepper jack cheese. DELIsH!

weekend

First off, Im so proud of myself for actually posting before the end of the day today! And doubly impressed because of the Hellish-ness that this day has brought. Implementing a new scheduling system has not been fun. Working a 10.5 hour day has not been fun! While I appreciate the overtime, my feet/legs/back are not as appreciative.

Well, now that Ive gotten THAT off my chest...oh wait! One last thing, the 'A' key on my keyboard is stuck, so thats really annoying. Oky, done with the rnt!

Friday: went to parents for beer brats. The most delicious hotdog/sausage type thing EVER. I feel like I could eat them everyday. Thank goodness theyre such a pain to make and Im too lazy to go to the trouble of making them.

Saturday: Didnt do anything! Well, we went for a walk, then home and Isaak watched some episodes of the Chapelle Show while I quickly sewed this:

a hastily put together heat pack microwave rice filled thing.

And then I perched on the edge of the davi with one eye on the tv and the other on my bracelet project. Wooden beads ROCK! excuse the veiny hands, giant veins run in the family:

Then we watched True Blood and then sleep.

Sunday!!!! The most exciting day of my weekend...I forced Isaak to go to a garage sale with me and we totally scored! Everything was 1/2 off! I got:

Some white vintage gloves, two Palm Springs cookbooks to give my dad for his bday, a cute bracelet and some buttons from a naval uniform. Oh! and a woven tray with carved wooden handles. Cool stuff! Isaak got a reel for his fishing pole, and a beer mug that has a microphone in the handle. AND a clip-on digital camera thats waterproof (Im extremely jealous of that find)! I cant remember if we got anything else...but we got all that for 9 bucks! Holler!!!

Breaking Dawn

Thursday, my friend Lili called me and informed me that I needed to check my email immediately. She had sent me the link to the Breaking Dawn part 1 official movie trailer. SWOON!!!! I really cannot wait to see it! Yesterday I had twilight on the brain...so naturally, I was wondering when tickets would go on sale. Before my mind could wander away from this critical topic, I went to the Fandango website and signed up for ticket availability notification. Tickets go on sale 10/1/11 but I dont want to forget and then miss out on the midnight showing! I texted Isaak about my excitement and mentioned going at midnight. Lucky for me, he volunteered his time to attend the premier with me. hee hee! Hes in for a REAL treat. So in case anyone is interested, here it is. I know that I will be watching it over and over and over to get ready for the big night!!!! AAAAHHHHHH!!!

Yipes!

Sooo, apparently its becoming quite the habit of mine to blog about my weekend halfway through the week! I keep thinking to myself that I need to download photos from my camera so that I can post, but that just never seems to happen. So here it is. Maybe Ill add a couple of pics later. No, I WILL add pics later! Ahem, so without further ado...

Friday: Hung out with some lovely ladies (Kriss, Danzelle, Amber) and ate amazingly delicious Chinese food and watched 'Big Trouble in Little China'.

Ive never seen this movie before and let me tell you, it was hilarious! And super weird!

Saturday was Lili's baby-shower lunch at The Reserve in Lynden. So much fun! Lily brought Maggie and her friend, Karen, brought her little girl, so it was cute to watch them interact. I just adore Maggie, shes so smart and sweet! I really cant wait for the new baby to come :) And I made lemon bars for dessert..impressive! HA! After lunch, Lili, Amanda and I went to the children's consignment store and looked around then went and had pedicures. It was a really nice day! Then went home and hung out with Isaak and watched True Blood and early to bed.

Sunday, the boys went shooting (thank GOD for alone time at home!!!) and I cleaned house a bit before heading over to Baylee's grandma's house to hang out in the pool with Baylee, Dan and Kathy. So much fun! Then ran out to my parents house to grab some books and a sewing machine! I cant wait to set it up and get some projects going! YAY!

All in all, another lovely weekend!!! Goal for next week: Get my act together and post no later than MONDAY!

Currently dreaming of..

Savannah, Georgia. Although Ive never been, I fantasize about this place almost constantly. Sometimes I look at real estate there and think about what it would be like to completely uproot my life and just go....

The Olympic Peninsula is a place that truly holds my heart. I feel an actual NEED to go there. I made the decision that this year, I cant afford to make the trip and my heart aches and my eyes tear up! So sad!

I have lust in my heart.

Ain't they beautiful?

I cant figure out how to put images together so they take up less room! Well, I did, but then I couldn't get it to upload onto the blog. Tech savvy IT person that I am...sheesh!

I REALLY need a new winter jacket. Like, for real. Now that Im supposed to dress 'appropriate' for work, I don't want to be tromping into my desk wearing a rain jacket, or the giant pink down filled parka. I feel the need to be at least a little bit classy.

Jackets and dresses from Modcloth, shoes from Chelsea Crew

What Im reading

Was reading this

Now Reading this

Sooooo...I love reading books that take place in the South. Mary Kay Andrews is one of my favorite 'Fluffy' writers. I really like how her heroines are strong, independent woman who wind up in some sticky situation and stumble upon a gorgeous man who somehow makes everything okay. A bit of a mystery, some damn fine scenery and, viola! Summer read! Well, actually, I like to read them all year round because it gives me such great day dream material.

I think that the Carolyn Haines books are coming in a close second. I love the main character and the fact that shes a PI and talks to her 'live in' ghost. So far, Ive read 4 of the books in the series and am hungry for more!

I just started on the Lily Bard books. Having read the Sookie Stackhouse novels, I was happy happy happy to have these books loaned to me :) So far (and by that I mean a quarter of the way through the first book) Im not sure I love these books. I was instructed to 'get through the first one' Im TRYING! Sheesh! More on this later...

Better late than never

Long Weekend:

Saturday-Harry Potter
FINALLY went and saw the last Harry Potter. Thank you Isaak for not making a peep about me crying my eyes out. Of course these characters are like relatives to me, as Ive seen them grow up, change, fall in love and become adults. So in the spirit of celebrating my favorite series I say 'Fuck you, Voldemort!' HA!

Sunday-Semiahmoo

I found this really big barnacle!!! Isaak got a really good close up of it.

This was my attempt...the barnacle is resting on my knee and Im laying down. I didn't realize until later that those two were in the background...and also messing up the focus on the pic!

Monday-Cleaning

In honor of Labor Day, Isaak and I cleaned the house. And then barbequed salmon. And then watched Indiana Jones. So there.

Farewell Summer

According to my iPhone, its supposed to be partly sunny with a high of 69 today. According to the gloom outside my window, I think otherwise. Part of the beauty of the PNW is that its so deliciously green ALL. YEAR. LONG. Which is thanks to the 5 days of sun and 360 days of rain. When my alarm goes off in the morning, the first thing I do is reach for my phone(aka alarm) and I check the forecast. Armed with that knowledge, I can think about what to wear while Im in the shower. 69 degrees really doesn't seem all that warm to me, so today, in honor of Fall (which apparently is upon us) I decided to wear long pants, a wool sweater(gah!) and even a scarf! I would've had Isaak take a pic, but Ive misplaced my camera! Anyway, Ive been thinking alot about how short summer always seems and how I'm so sad that its over. Having lived here my entire life, you would think Id be used to the weather, but the older I get, the less impressed I am by the area in which I reside. Along with the 5 day forecast for my area, I also check the weather in New York, Savannah, and San Diego. Ive got to get out of here! Why is it that everyone is always sadly saying 'the summer went by so fast!' but no one is EVER sad to see winter come to an end. sigh....
